| When Gary and Pat purchased the Golden Lantern the intent was maintaining their passions: gardening and landscaping. Guests who have stayed at the Golden Lantern more than once over the past year and a half can attest to the fact that the Garden and Grounds at the Golden Lantern, a Red Wing Bed and Breakfast, are in a constant state of change and probably will be until we decide to move on. There are few things more spectacular, that we can think of, than a garden in full-bloom, flush with a profusion of color everywhere the eye can see. Butterflies drifting in the breeze and hummingbirds darting about looking for the impatiens or salvia or whatever else they can find. It is a setting we strive to provide the guests of our Red Wing Minnesota Bed and Breakfast. Spaces Magazine just recognized as one of Minnesota's "Secret Gardens" in their April/May issue. Recently, Gary received his Master Gardener Certificate. And although there's still a lot of trial and error, it is paying off. Come and check out our handiwork at our Red Wing MN Bed Breakfast. The addition of a couple of small flag stone patios throughout the garden make them ideal spots for breakfast, on those days when the Red Wing weather cooperates of course. There aren't many B&Bs in Red Wing we've come across that offer this amenity. How enjoyable: a beautiful Minnesota morning, sitting in the garden sipping a cup of coffee and having breakfast with the most important person in your life; all that beauty of the moment surrounding you. The expanded gardens also allow us to adorn the Inn with fresh cut flowers, to enhance the casual elegance of the Inn. Whether they're on your breakfast tray, on the dining room table, the sun porch bistro tables or in any of the spacious and warm common areas of the Red Wing Inn, our gardens help provide part of what is the Golden Lantern. And what better place to have a wedding than in our beautiful Minnesota gardens, under our arbor and viewed by your guests in these spectacular surroundings. Ask us to see our pictures. We invite you to come and enjoy the beauty of this period Red Wing home and the romantic, relaxing and restful accommodations. It wonít take you long to understand why people come back time and again. And watch for the Golden Lantern to be featured in the St Paul Pioneer Press' spring garden section. In an article titled "Bed and Breakfasts with Great Gardens" we will be one of the chosen Inns. |
